General Scholarship Information
All applications for foundation sponsored scholarships must be submitted online before February for eligibility of the following Fall and Spring semesters. All Fullerton College students are encouraged to apply. However, most require common criteria.
- Attended Fullerton College as a full-time student (12 or more units)
- Maintained a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 - Osher Scholarships require a minimum of 2.5 G.P.A.
- Completed at least 24 units at Fullerton College
Selection Process:
Recipients may be selected by the Fullerton College Foundation Scholarship Committee, a specific division, or by the scholarship donor.
Sample Calendar:
- December – February : Apply Online
- February: Deadline for submitting applications
- April: The Scholarship Committee selects student recipients. FC divisions submit their list of awardees.
- Early May: Letters are sent out informing the students of their award status
- May- Foundation Scholarship Awards Banquet
- August: The first disbursement of the scholarship award is given
- January the Following Year: The second disbursement of the scholarship award is given.
Disbursements:
Awards are typically disbursed in two payments: half in the fall, and upon successful completion of 12 units with a 3.00 G.P.A.,(Osher is 2.5) the remaining half in the spring.
Fall disbursement:
To receive the first disbursement, students must complete a scholarship disbursement form (disbursement form must be picked up from the Foundation office), submit proof of registration for the Fall semester and submit a thank you letter to the donor. Processing time for checks is approximately two weeks.
Spring disbursement:
To receive the second disbursement, students must show proof of successful completion of fall semester courses as well as proof of registration for the spring semester.
Other conditions:
'Graduating Scholarship' recipients must graduate by August of the year of their award in order to receive their scholarship award. Unclaimed scholarships will be forfeited by the end of the academic year for which they were awarded.
Available Scholarships for the Arts
The Art Department also offers merit based scholarships each spring to the Student Art Show winners in several different categories.
Terry & Karen Blackley Fine Arts Division Recruitment Fund
This scholarship can be used for recruitment in the Fine Arts and/or for the purpose of student scholarships. The fine arts division will determine the manner in which funds are disbursed.

This scholarship is open to any student in The Fine Arts or Liberal Arts Division demonstrating unique artistic talent. They must have a 3.0 GPA or above.

This scholarship is to be awarded to a theatre arts major with outstanding integrity, seriousness of purpose, demonstrated financial need and a dedication to theatre. This scholarship is to be used to further the student's education and career development in the theatre. The selection will be by a committee of Theatre Arts staff appointed by the chairman of the Theatre Dept.

Awards to be determined by the faculty of the Theatre Arts Department for one or not more than two students majoring in Theatre Arts. The recipients must be students transferring or graduating to be considered. They must also have a minimum 2.5 GPA. First consideration will be given to students who are poly talents or represent the most promising theatre students.

Eligibility goes to any sophomore majoring in drama or interpretive speech who will graduate from F.C. with a GPA of 2.5 or better, and continues towards a bachelor's degree in a four-year college or university the following year. Prime requisites for candidates shall be good character, a constructive attitude, and earnest application in college, financial need, and excellence in drama or interpretive speech productions. Recommendations will be by a committee of three, appointed from the Theater Arts Department by the Chairman of Fine Arts Division. The award may be divided.

This award is for a graduating or continuing theatre arts major. Criteria includes outstanding achievement in theatre, promise in the entertainment industry and a minimum 2.5 G.P.A.
