The Art Associate in Arts Degree (Art AA) is designed to prepare students for possible careers in different fields of Fine Arts, including gallery presentation, painting, ceramics, and sculpture. The Art AA degree offers preparation for possible transfer to a four-year public or private art Institute or university. This degree requires a total of 18-19 units, in addition to other graduation requirements.

Student Learning Outcomes

Outcome 1: Analyze and utilize recognized design standards for the purpose of composing or constructing visual art or designs.

Outcome 2: Create two- or three-dimensional work in a variety of media and disciplines for the purpose of generating artistic solutions and portfolio materials.

Outcome 3: Identify and/or interpret key works of art and architecture from a variety of histories, time periods, and global cultures in order to analyze and think critically about artworks within their sociopolitical context.
