SRO

S.R.O., a summer theatre musical conservatory, created and led by FC faculty director Gary Krinke, is open to all incoming high school freshmen through graduating high school seniors who are interested in gaining extensive experience in all phases of musical theatre production. Openings are available for performers and behind-the-scenes positions, and a limited number of college students serving as mentors are also available.

Approximately 50-60 high school students will be accepted to the Conservatory, which begins on in late June and continues through late July. Students will attend classes and rehearsals Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Classes are taught by a staff of professional theatre artists and include dance, voice, musical theatre, movement, scene painting, and costume construction techniques. The inclusion of college level theatre student mentors in the S.R.O. program enhances the learning experience for Conservatory students. The college students not only participate in the production, but work directly with the high school students during the afternoon rehearsals.

Students will also rehearse and perform in a full-scale Broadway musical directed by Gary Krinke, John Vaughan, and John Tebay. Performances will run in the extensively equipped Campus Theatre during the final week of the program, which is usually the third week in July.

All participating students pay the registration fees for all five units of summer school classes.
