High School Theatre Festival: Preparations Underway for 2006 Festival
We are busy preparing for our 26th annual Fullerton College Theatre Festival, which promises to be a truly amazing event. On March 17 & 18, 2006, we expect more than 2,000 competitors from over 60 high schools will visit the Fullerton College campus for 2 days of acting, design competition and theme related activities.
Our theme this year is The Year of the Drama Teacher. In addition to compeition in 13 different categories, we will host a variety of theatre workshops throughout the weekend. In addition to our traditional audition, voice, dance, and stage combat workshops, our new focus will be on helping high school students explore a variety of career options in the entertainment world.
As we did in 2005, the encampment for participating high schools will be located on the grassy area on the southeast corner of Lemon and Chapman Avenues adjacent to Wilshire Auditorium. The opening ceremony will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 17 and the closing ceremony will take place on the steps of the new Library Learning Resource Center facing the campus quad.
